Community batteries are an integral part of exciting initiatives to make the most of rooftop solar on homes across our network.
Community batteries provide a shared battery solution - you don’t have to have rooftop solar or to own your own home to benefit from the power stored in the community battery.
They can store solar energy generated in local neighbourhoods, enable lower electricity costs for customers and support the continued growth of household solar on the electricity network.
Community batteries for household solar
We have partnered with the Federal Government to deliver community batteries in Bidwill, Blaxland, Cabramatta, Dapto, Hobartville and Warrawong, through the Commonwealth’s Community Batteries for Household Solar program.
Eligible customers can access these batteries through our retail partner, EnergyAustralia.
We are delivering 32 batteries across 27 suburbs in the Endeavour Energy region with support from ARENA.
More information on these batteries will be available in the coming months.
We have delivered a further 10 community batteries across Bargo, Blair Athol, Bungarribee, Cambewarra, East Bowral, Hammondville, Kiama Downs, Macquarie Fields, Shell Cove and St Georges Basin.
Eligible customers can access these batteries through our retail partner, Origin Energy.
