How your solar system connects to the network

When you install solar panels, your system generates electricity for your home to use. If you produce more than you need, the extra energy flows back into the grid. If you have a battery, you can store that extra power to use later. If you live near a community battery you can also store your solar in the community battery.

Information

Always use a licensed installer when connecting solar or battery systems. It helps keep your system safe, meets Australian standards and ensures you’re eligible for rebates or feed-in tariffs.

Information

Compare different retailers’ energy plans to make sure you get the best deal on feed-in tariffs.

Flexible exports program

If you’re eligible, you may be able to apply for a higher flexible solar export limit.. This will allow you to send more electricity back into the grid (than on a fixed export option) to make the most out of your solar system.

Share the sunshine with a community battery

Community batteries provide a shared battery solution and best of all you don't have to have rooftop solar to participate.
